In short
- No advertising, analytics or tracking cookies.
- Nuru stores a few things in your browser so sign-in and the apps work.
- Two outside services load on some pages: a check that you're not a robot, and our fonts.
- If we ever want to add analytics, we'll ask you first.
1. What Nuru stores in your browser
Nuru doesn't set cookies of its own. It keeps a few small items in your browser's storage, all needed for the service to work:
| Item | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Sign-in | Keeps you signed in so you don't have to sign in on every page. | Until you sign out |
| Selected child | In the parent app, remembers which child you were looking at. | Until you clear it |
| Working room | In the educator app, remembers the room you picked for today. | Until you change it |
| Install message | Remembers that you closed the "add to home screen" message, so it doesn't keep appearing. | Until you clear it |
| Update check | After Nuru is updated, lets the page reload once instead of showing a blank screen. | 10 seconds |
2. Outside services
Cloudflare Turnstile runs on the sign-in and sign-up pages to check that you're a person, not an automated program. To do that, Cloudflare may set its own cookie and look at details of your device and browser.
Google Fonts supplies the typefaces on our pages. Your browser downloads them from Google, so Google receives your device's internet address. Google doesn't set cookies for this.
3. Your choices
You can clear Nuru's stored items at any time in your browser's settings. You'll be signed out and your remembered choices will reset. Blocking them altogether will stop sign-in from working. See our privacy policy for everything else about your data.
